When Passing Property, You Have To Use a Deed

I recently wrote a Utah Trust for some nice clients who just wanted to pass their house on to the person they wanted to have it. I finished writing the trust and turned to the deed like I always do and looked up the property on the Salt Lake County Website. To my dismay, the house was still in the name of the person who had left it to my clients in their will. They had never taken the steps to get the house deeded to them. Now we will have to scramble to get that done before we can put the house in their new Utah Trust. I felt so bad breaking that news to them. When you pass a home in your will, the person in charge of your estate needs to get it deeded to the people you want to have it. It was another glaring example of how placing a home in a Utah Trust is the best way to avoid complications when passing on a home when you pass on yourself. Call me today for a consultation to place your home into a Utah Trust. I can help make sure it ends up where you want it and in the easiest way possible.
